We suggest that you consider booking your flights to South Africa as soon as you have received confirmation of your safari, since flights are usually crowded during the hunting season, and costs do fluctuate closer to the date of departure.

Prior to your arrival in Johannesburg it is advisable to have a company assist you with the clearance of your weapons. We recommend that you use the services of RiflePermits. They are a reliable ‘meet and greet’ service that has been in business for many years. They are a friendly and efficient company that will painlessly assist you in clearing customs and immigration in Johannesburg. Find the link to their website in the footer below.

Travel to Mozambique

When travelling to Mozambique it is important to note that a visa for Mozambique is required by all foreign citizens. You need a valid passport with an expiry date of at least 6 months after your arrival date in Mozambique. Your passport needs to have at least 3 blank (unstamped) pages remaining.

The cost of a Mozambican visa is roughly US$100 and the visa must be applied for prior to departure from your nearest Mozambican Consulate.

Dependant on your time of arrival in Johannesburg you may need to sleep over for one night in Johannesburg before flying out the next morning to Mozambique, due to the landing times of the flights from the US.

If so, we highly recommend using Africa Sky Guest House. This beautiful guest house is situated close to O.R Tambo airport and has shuttles to collect you and drop you off the following morning.

Once you arrive in Mozambique a large majority of your travel will be done in comfortable 4×4 vehicles.

Global Rescue is the only company that will conduct field rescue, no matter how remote, which is advisable in remote areas such as where we conduct our safaris in Mozambique.
