Mozambique

We have teamed up with one of the best operators in Mozambique and we have full access to some of the best hunting concessions in Mozambique. This is a species collectors paradise with such a diversity of animal species available to harvest in Mozambique or the perfect starting location for a big 7 safari. It is common practice to travel to a few different concessions while on safari in Mozambique.

In Mozambique all the hunting is free range and is as wild as one can expect to find in this remote part of Africa. Due to the wide range of habitats we hunt, we can offer a complete range of species from 7 of the tiny 10 all the way up to 6 of the dangerous 7, leopard, lion, buffalo, hippo, crocodile and elephant.

Our concession in the Tete province is the ideal place to harvest leopard, crocodile, hippo and some plains game species, around the world famous Lake Cahora Bassa. Lake Cahora Bassa is renowned for its large crocodiles with numerous trophies being entered into both Rowland Ward and SCI record books.

We pride ourselves in always giving our utmost to a safari and that is reflected by our 100% success rate on leopard.

The Sofala province is vast and varies in habitat from Miombo woodland to huge open grasslands and floodplains, there are a few concessions we travel between, including our forest concession. It is this concession that we enjoy a huge success rate in harvesting most of the tiny 10 and our exceptional free-range nyala. In these areas we offer exceptionally good buffalo, Roosevelt’s sable, eland, lion and plains game hunting.

Prime hunting season is from April to November with the best time being from the beginning of June onwards.

The accommodation in Mozambique is very rustic, but comfortable. Each of the hunting areas have permanent thatched and wooden living areas with tented en-suite chalets with hot and cold running water. Most camps are equipped with generators allowing for the most basic charging of devices as well as the running of lights and other necessities. With regards to communication, each camp has a satellite phone in case of emergencies, but we recommend that if you need to be in touch with family or work you should hire a satellite phone from the provider in your country.
